Sweden in the Europa Song Contest

Sweden took part in the first edition of the Europa Song Contest which was hosted by the country in Sofia. The country was represented by Måns Zelmerlöw with the song "Glorious". The entry was be selected via the broadcaster of the country, Swedish Broadcaster. The song got the 6th place in the final with 102 points.

Before ESC[]

On April 26, SVT announced that the country planned an internal selection, for their act, letting no clue about who could be the Swedish participant. It was announced that the entrant would be revealed, together with his song, on April 29.

Internal Selection[]

On April 29 2017, the Swedish entrant was selected. It was chosen that Måns Zelmerlöw would represent Sweden with his single "Glorious".

At ESC[]

At the allocation draw, Sweden was drawn to vote in the second semi-final. At the running order draw, Sweden was drawn to perform fifth in the second semi final, following Ireland and preceding Greece, in the final was drawn to perform third, following Moldova and preceding Lithuania.

Both the semi-finals and the final were broadcast by Yle. The Finnish HoD was the final and semi-finals television commentators respectively. Saara Aalto was the spokesperson that announced the Finnish voting in the final.
