Spain in the Europa Song Contest

Spain took part in the first edition of the Europa Song Contest which was hosted by the country in Sofia. The country was represented by La Oreja de Van Gogh with the song "Verano". The entry was be selected via the broadcaster of the country, Spanish Broadcaster. The song failed to qualify and got the 11th place in the first semi-final with 50 points.

It was announced that the entrant would be revealed, together with her song, on 2 May 2017.

Internal Selection[]

On May 2 2017, the Spanish entrant was selected. It was chosen that La Oreja de Van Gogh would represent Spain with the single "Verano".

At ESC[]

Both the semi-finals and the final were broadcast by Spanish Broadcaster. The Spanish HoD was the final and semi-finals television commentators respectively. Fruela was the spokesperson that announced the Spanish voting in the final.
