Greece took part in the first edition of the Europa Song Contest which was hosted by the country in Sofia. The country was represented by Tamta with the song "Unloved". The entry was be selected via the broadcaster of the country, ERT. The song got the 1st place in the second semi-final with 115 points and in the final the 2nd place with 123 points.
On April 23, ERT announced that the country planned a national selection, for their next act, letting no clue about who could be the Greek participant.
The songs and the paritcipants were announed from 28 until 29 April, while the National Final took place on the 29th of April as well. The Broadcaster didn't gave the results
At the allocation draw, Greece was drawn to perform in the sixth place of the second semi-final and in the final Greece was drawn to perform in the seventeenth place.
Both the semi-finals and the final were broadcast by ERT. Maria Kozakou was the final and semi-finals television commentators respectively. Giorgos Kapoutzidis was the spokesperson that announced the Greek voting in the final.
