Bulgaria took part in the first edition of the Europa Song Contest which was hosted by the country in Sofia. The country was represented by Dara with the song "Rodena Takava". The entry was be selected via the broadcaster of the country, Bulgarias Radio (BNT). The song got the 20th place in the final with 64 points.
On April 23, BNT announced that the country planned an internal selection, for their next act, letting no clue about who could be the Bulgarian participant. It was announced that the entrant would be revealed, together with her song, on April 27.
Internal Selection[]
On April 27 2017, the Bulgarian entrant was selected. It was chosen that Dara would represent Bulgaria with her second single "Rodena Takava".
At the allocation draw, Bulgaria was drawn to vote in the first semi-final. As a host Bulgaria went straight to the final. At the running order draw, Bulgaria was drawn to perform eighteenth, following TBA and preceding the TBA.
Both the semi-finals and the final were broadcast by BNT. George Rospier was the final and semi-finals television commentators respectively. Gery-Nikol was the spokesperson that announced the Bulgarian voting in the final.
