Belarus took part in the first edition of the Europa Song Contest which was hosted by the country in Sofia. The country was represented by Alexander Rybak with the song "Kotik". The entry was be selected via the broadcaster of the country, Belarusian Radio. The song got the last place in the final with 45 points.
On April 20, BTRC announced that the country planned an internal selection, for their act, letting no clue about who could be the Belarusian participant. It was announced that the entrant would be revealed, together with her song, on April 27.
Internal Selection[]
On April 27 2017, the Belarusian entrant was selected. It was chosen that Alexander Rybak would represent Belarus with his single "Kotik".
At ESC[]
At the allocation draw, Belarus was drawn to vote in the second semi-final. At the running order draw, Belarus was drawn to perform seventh in the second semi final, following Greece and preceding France and in the final was drawn to perform twelveth, following Estonia and preceding Monaco.
Both the semi-finals and the final were broadcast by BTRC. Streamrunner was the final and semi-finals television commentators respectively. Rita Dakota was the spokesperson that announced the Belarus voting in the final.
