Australia in the Europa Song Contest

Australia took part in the seventh edition of the Europa Song Contest which was hosted by Iceland. The country will be represented by TBA with the song "TBA". The entry was be selected via The Next Voice 02 organized by the broadcaster of the country, SBS.

Background[]

Australia has been watching the contest since the very first edition. However, despite the previous attempts and for obvious reasons, the contest did not allow Australia to the contest. However, for the sixth edition, the EBU has decided to invite Australia for the dedication of Australian fans of the EuSC. After winning the national selection, Delta Goodrem was given the right to be Australia's first ever representative and received a satisfactory result of 4th place in a field of 27 countries.

Australia used a selection called The Next Voice to select their first representative. 20 songs are competing for the title. 4 semi-finals were held with 5 in each, a final with 9 acts, and a super-final called The Next Voice with 3 acts.. These were the results:

At ESC[]

All live shows will be broadcasted by SBS both on radio, and on TV. Both to be commentated by Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey for the semi-finals, and Julia Zemiro and Sam Pang for the grand final. Just like last edition, the live shows will be a part of a special SBS coverage called Do It All for Australia | The Europa Song Contest 7 Coverage.

Final[]

In the allocation draw, it was stated that the country will be voting in the first semi-final as well, and was to perform in the (-) half of the grand final. The runner-up or third placer of The Next Voice 02 will be assigned as the spokesperson for the contest.

Voting[]

Australia voted in the first semi-final since the country was allocated to vote in that semi-final in the allocation draw. In the grand final, a superfinalist from The Next Voice 02 will be the Australian spokesperson.
