Albania in the Europa Song Contest

Albania took part in the first edition of the Europa Song Contest which was hosted by the country in Sofia. The country was represented by ROD featuring with Soundstreamers with the song "Light it Up". The entry was be selected via the broadcaster of the country, Albanian Broadcaster. The song failed to qualify and got the 12th place in the second semi-final with 43 points.

Before ESC[]

On April 25, Albanian broadcaster announced that the country planned an internal selection, for their next act, letting no clue about who could be the Albanian participant. It was announced that the entrant would be revealed, together with his song, on April 30.

Internal Selection[]

On April 29 2017, the Albanian entrant was selected. It was chosen that ROD featuring Soundstreamers would represent Albania with their single "Light it Up".

At ESC[]

Both the semi-finals and the final were broadcast by Albanin Broadcaster. The Albanian HoD was the final and semi-finals television commentators respectively. Ronela Hajati was the spokesperson that announced the Albanian voting in the final.
